Goodbye Best Winter Ever

I've been somewhat in hiding lately. No news is good news as they like to say.

Truth is I've been feeling pretty crummy. I've been trying to grab this pregnancy by the horns and celebrate every second of it. I'm afraid to complain about all the issues I've been having for fear of coming off as ungrateful.

I started to write an entire post about all the crummy that has been going on- but what is the point really? Even if I am feeling crummy- what does writing about crumminess do for my psyche? Or the psyche of others for that matter?  Nada, zilch, nothing. Complaining is surely not going to make it go away.

Instead on this last day of winter I wanted to celebrate. I am truly glad to kiss winter goodbye. I'm not a fan of cold, snow, or ice. I am a fan of my garden, flowers and sunshine.

Still with this being one of the snowiest, most bipolar, coldest, polar vortexing winters of all time I can still standby and celebrate it. Much like my pregnancy being filled with nausea, vomiting, and constipation- I can still totally celebrate it.

So three cheers for this winter. Three cheers for the winter that brought us to this pregnancy. Three cheers for these little babies who let me know they are with me always.

I am truly looking forward to Spring and all that comes with it and all that it promises, but sad to say goodbye to the best winter of my life <3

  1. Sorry you've felt crummy, but glad you're still staying appreciate nevertheless. And YES goodbye to the sucktastic winter! Good riddens! The really great thing is also that it will be much easier to dress in spring and summer for maternity too. Hope you feel better soon!

  2. Stupid winter!! I'm sorry you feel yucky, I got lucky in that department for sure. Except constipation is on board right now. I have to take extra iron and we all know how that story goes.

This is your pregnancy. If you want to talk about being sick and how crummy being sick is then do it. I would never think you were ungrateful. You should document every moment for you. It's not like you would be saying you hate pregnancy.

Cheers to spring and new life!!

  3. So sorry you're not feeling that great. I agree with Mrs. Lost above- if you need to complain, then complain! There are aspects of pregnancy that totally suck, even if you're thrilled to be in the midst of it! :)

  5. I can't wait for some sunshine! I'm sorry you're feeling crummy.... :-( just because you waited so long for this pregnancy, doesn't mean you have be appreciative while puking your guts out. I promise, we won't judge. I hope the Spring brings a great trimester and an end to the crumminess!

  6. I must agree with everyone else...This is a place to write your thoughts and feelings; If you're feeling sick and gross, then tell us. No one will ever think you're ungrateful. Hope you get feeling better and that the sunshine sticks around! I also love my garden and flowers!

  7. I love your drive to keep positive and focusing on the celebrations in life. It's hard to think about you suffering with intense symptoms. I'm really hoping you get relief soon.

  8. You are so right about complaining. It won't do anything and it only makes you remain in the situation longer by keeping your thoughts there. Love ya girl!!! xoxo

  9. It sounds like this (ridiculous, sucky) winter brought you some big gifts. I hope that your spring is even better, with some relief from the nausea soon!

  10. Just because we try so hard to conceive it doesn't mean we can't complain about the parts of pregnancy that are a pain. I am also glad this winter....or ending. I am so tired of harsh winds I just want a little sunshine. P.S. I felt the same way about how I have been feel pre and post IVF but ya know what I don't care its been hard. I also think that pregnancy sometimes can be harder for us TTCers because of all the additional hormones. blah. Love you friend.

  11. "best winter of my life" beautiful way to look at this past winter keeping the positive in view. Can't say I ever really got "bored" of the weather this winter time, it never stayed the same from day to day! So that's something, right? =)
