Home From Vacay

I'm just settling into my routine from my trip to Virginia. Thankfully I do not return to work till Thursday so I have some extra time to play catch up.

I briefly caught up with some blogs this morning and my heart broke one thousand times over for my friend Holly at Oh Baby, Baby. Holly lost sweet Jude her last remaining triplet at 21 weeks. If you could take a second to stop over and send her some love and prayers. Im praying for her peace and for love to surround her and her family during a time that I can not fathom. Her faith is surely being tested.

Switching to some happier things going on in IF-Ville- Where Is That Bird? and Not Pregnant and Pissed! both are celebrating their BFP's! Yay for some wins in infertility land because the losses have been plentifully and heart wrenching lately. Its nice to be reminded that while we are surround by bad-awful-unfathomable losses and pain there still are some happy bright spots shining through the storms.

I have a lot more catching up to do still, but Im pretty sure the hubby wants food and I need to go grocery shopping at some point today so I must tear my self away.

My trip to Virginia was absolutely amazing. The women I met with were all running the Richmond Marathon and Half-Marathon. I met all these women on the interwebs and it is truly amazing how close we are and just how much we have in common.

Nicole, Kelly, Holly and Myself

Missing from our group of five is my dear friend Alexis who lost both her Grandfather and then a Grandmother within about a weeks time and needed to be home with her family. If you could send a prayer out to Alexis as she recovers from the losses of her loved one too.

Nicole and Holly ran the half marathon and Kelly ran the full marathon. These women are true inspirations and I am so blessed to be able to call them some of my best friends.

I pretty much ran all over Richmond in my Ugg boots. I learned something valuable about being a spectator- dress as though you are also running or walking a marathon because in order to see everyone you must travel on foot all over the place.

Nicole, Holly, Cait, Kelly, Angel, Jessica, Me and Annette
We went to dinner one night with other friends that some of us met online and friends in real life. Angel ran the marathon and Jessica also ran the half. Annette trekked all over the town with me to watch over awe-inspiring friends run.

We spent the weekend drinking wine and talking- it was like a therapy session. It was a meeting amongst friends that I will never forget and I feel like pieces of my heart are currently scattered across the country.

I have a goal to run a half with these women soon :)

In IVF news I received my packet of blood work and paper work and scripts. I need to take some time and read it over. Rob went and had his blood work taken care of today and I will go tomorrow.

I hope this week brings some peace and love to everyone. If you are currently hurting I hope that you can feel the love of others surrounding you.

I hope you had a good time in Virginia - I too have a goal to run a marathon (hopefully next year!) but it is SUPER daunting!

Good luck with your IVF paper/blood work - hopefully this brings you to your BFP!

  13. Hi Kasey! Good luck on both your IVF and half marathon plans. For me the best thing about running is that you can think through the world while you do it. I ran my first half two months ago and am planning for the second one (next summer) already :-)
